Founded in 1948 by Soichiro Honda, the brand built its legend on racing. As early as 1959 it entered the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy; two years later it won its first world titles in the smaller classes. In the premier class, Honda went on to take Freddie Spencer, Wayne Gardner, Mick Doohan, Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Casey Stoner and Marc Márquez to victory. A Honda jersey tells that whole story at once.
Márquez, the common thread between two manufacturers
Having joined Honda in 2013, Marc Márquez won six premier-class titles there, the first in his rookie season. After several difficult years, he moved to the Italian competition and triumphed again in 2025 in the colours of Ducati. His career links two schools: Japanese rigour and the passion of Borgo Panigale.
HRC, the racing department
Since 1982, Honda Racing Corporation has designed the factory machines, from the two-stroke NSR500 to the MotoGP RC213V. Its colours are found in three product families:
- Honda jackets, from team jackets to racing-style blousons;
- Honda caps, for the grandstands as well as the city;
- Honda T-shirts, for everyday wear.
From Repsol orange to the HRC tricolour
From 1995 to 2024, the factory team raced in Repsol’s orange and red, a partnership lasting almost thirty years. Since 2025, the Honda HRC Castrol team has put the red, white and blue back in the spotlight, the historic tricolour of the racing department.
Honda is only part of the story: the other manufacturers on the grid can be found in the MotoGP jersey collection.
